I make music. I make people laugh. I do neither on purpose. @mikefalzone

Stop me if you’ve heard this one. “A guy walks into a bar and says, “So I got my first Loot Crate yesterday!”

But f’real, that’s what happened.

I love the idea behind this company and I love how they base their business on sharing. Loot Crate is a monthly subscription service - basically they find and send you geeky sh*t and it makes me smile. They didn’t pay me to do this. I subscribed like anyone else and I like it.

I don’t really know what I was expecting from my first delivery, so you can imagine how confused I was when I felt like it exceeded my expectations.

The theme of the box this month was HEROES. Lets dig in:

TMNT Figure from Kidrobot -I love Kidrobot and I love vinyl figures. They are really bright, clean, FUN to collect, pieces of art. I have a tiny stash of blind boxes and I used to visit their store in NYC (which I believe is no longer open - bummer). They’ve done super-awesome collaborations in the past - see also ‘Fat Caps’ - and this TMNT stuff is no different; awesome. As you can see I was lucky enough to get Leonardo. If I ever get into a tiny jam he’s sure to be the tiny solution. He comes with two adorable lil’ sword/katana deals and I think they glow in the dark.
They better glow in the dark.

Funko POP! Groot Exclusive - 'SCLOOOOSSSIIIIVVVVVVEEEEE! Two vinyl figures in one day? For me? A dude who loves vinyl figures? Well, now I'm having a great day and my smile hurts.

I haven’t seen this movie yet but I heard it’s dope and furthermore I hear this branchy dude is adorable in it. I heard the same about Batista; really lookin’ forward to seeing it. At first glance some of this guy’s finer qualities include a glow in the dark hand, a bobble head, and being exclusive (it’s like having swag - but for toys).

TMNT Mask Glasses -File this under things my girlfriend stole instantly. She then took several selfies, gloating. Proving maybe once and for all that TMNT makes people who were born in the 80s incredibly happy. Like Bob Ross and ice cream cake.

Shoe Lightning Bolts - Once in a while you see a really simple idea blow the hell up and you’re all like, ‘I coulda thought of that!’ But you didn’t and you have no one to blame but yourself. I think my favorite thing about these is the company slogan: Makes old shoes new. Makes new shoes fly. So good. I’ll post a picture of these on my instaslam (mainly because I forgot to take one for this…that’s on me).

Sonic Air Freshener - I miss playing Sonic The Hedgehog on Sega Genesis and my car smells horrible. This is a match made in heaven.

Deadpool Magnet - I’m so stupid. When I first took this out of the box I was thought it was just a little ‘sponsored magnet’ - NOPE! I didn’t even notice that they ‘sponsor’ happened to be f’kin DEADPOOL and his most favorite cereal CHIMICHANG’OS! Let this be a lesson to all of you. Look at every magnet you get…very closely.

There were also a few extra download codes on a card in the box.  I’m not sure that I’ll use any of those but going above and beyond with extra stuff is always a nice surprise. At the heart of it - that’s really what Loot Crate is; a nice surprise that you can expect about once a month. Like a less painful and nerdy menstrual cycle. Needless to say, (that was gross and) I’m looking forward to next month!

A Nation Conversation with Mike Falzone

You know him, you love him, and you constantly demand his beautiful bearded presence on YouTube Nation. It’s Mike Falzone!

Since 2006, mikefalzone has bewitched the hearts of the Internet with his biweekly vlogs about life’s random occurrences, original music videos, and awkward interviews…

Ok so @lootecrate is dope. Here’s that link I was talking about | http://mbsy.co/lootcrate/9040745
Things I learned from the #SinCity2 red carpet:
- No one knows who we are.
- Jessica Alba has ‘perfect face’
- Zoja Is way too hot for me.

Meghan Tonjes (meghantonjes) doesn’t need a cape and high-heeled boots to announce her superhero status.
A musician, YouTuber, body image activist, and the inspiration behind the Booty Revolution,
Tonjes isn’t afraid to start conversations about controversial issues such as body image, fat shaming, sexual assault, and bullying. And with her outspoken, educated responses, Tonjes is our #WCW for proudly making the YouTube ecosystem a better place by being herself.
In 2006, Tonjes created her YouTube channel as a place to upload her original music. But as fans and cover requests started streaming in, Tonjes quickly evolved her content to include music, personal vlogs, and collaborations with dear YouTube friends such as Mike Falzone and Chris Thompson. She’s been on national toursand released numerous albums, but she is quickly becoming best known for her shaming of fat shamers.

A victim of bullying, Tonjes has always been extremely open about what it took for her to be comfortable and confident in her own curvy figure, even appearing on The Ellen Degeneres Show to talk about how it got better. On her YouTube channel, Tonjes is all about self-love and encourages others to break the cookie cutter molds that have so long restricted society’s definition of beauty. She’s plus-sized, beautiful, and isn’t apologizing to anyone for being herself. And to the people crass enough to write hateful comments under Tonjes’s videos, good luck to you, because she’s having none of that.

This summer, Tonjes accused Instagram of discriminating against her for being plus sized after the social media site flagged her tasteful bikini butt picture. The story quickly gained national attention and inspired Tonjes to start her own revolution, the Booty Revolution. Using the hashtag #bootyrevolution, Tonjes encourages women to submit photos to Instagram, Twitter, and Tumblr celebrating their own booties. Hundreds of women have since responded and, together, begun creating a positive atmosphere that praises, rather than critiques, women’s bodies.

Tonjes makes women proud to be different and outspoken and passionate, and for all this and more, I’m beyond honored to have her as this week’s #WCW. Meghan, thank you for using your voice— and butt—to make the rest of us a little more confident. The ladies of the world agree, we’re lucky to have you in our corner.

Carly Lanning is a YouTube Nation curator and proud to support the #bootyrevolution.

Great hair thanks to wind. Thanks, wind.
